The HeartSource Subtle Energy Meditation Journey
HeartSource Meditation is dedicated to the principle of cultivating a benevolent, charitable heart - for the self, as well as for all others. HeartSource Subtle Energy Meditation technique utilizes the multi-layered applications of traditional seated meditation, subtle energy exploration, ancient Taoist-based energy healing and cultivation, Tai Chi/Qi Gong, and the principles of Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy for a depth of connection, consciousness and healing. HeartSource seeks to provide safe and sacred space for the sometimes perplexing navigation of life, elevating the human experience of all meditators  through embrace of the authentic and divine self.Â
Meet Meg McLaughlin and Kwan Yin
WE ARE ALL STUDENTS IN THE SCHOOL OF LIFE
Formerly known as Chi Sin Meditation, HeartSource Meditation reflects Meg’s ongoing journey of personal growth and inner cultivation. This transformation marks a deepening in her path—a recognition that learning and awakening are lifelong processes that continue even beyond this life.
Meg approaches her work not only as a guide but as a committed student of the very principles she shares with others.
She practices meeting herself with honesty, confronting what is unseen, disowned, or difficult to love. Her journey, like that of many others, calls for deep recognition, tempered reflection, and eventually, forgiveness and love.
She knows this is no easy path - it is often a great struggle. And yet, Meg does her best to embrace it as an awe-inspiring adventure—a dance of light and shadow, struggle and grace. With years of experience, and a desire to help, her intention is to bring lightness, joy, and compassionate support for those who feel called to explore this sacred inner terrain.

MEG MCLAUGHLIN
Meg McLaughlin is a native Californian who worked as a writer for children's animated television shows from the late ‘80s to the early 2000s. Her credits include shows such as SMURFS, CLIFFORD THE BIG RED DOG, SPIDERMAN, and THE INCREDIBLE HULK. Meg was introduced to Sum Faht Meditation in 1990, when she attended a workshop offered by Sifu Leong Tan, who brought this practice to the US from the Chinese community in Malaysia almost 40 years ago. Meg decided to make meditation her primary focus when she became the initiated student of Leong Tan, and worked as Sifu Tan's apprentice for 22 years.
Through Sifu Tan’s instruction, Meg became a trance-channel of the Bodhisattva Kwan Yin. In this state, students are offered a deeper instruction in Kwan Yin’s foundational message: that forgiveness of self, and true love of self - cultivating true peace within - is the most profound contribution to world peace one can make.
In the mid-2000s, Meg also received training in Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy, building on her interest in the psychological and neurological effects of meditation and subtle energy on healing mood disorders and emotional trauma. With over three decades of dedicated meditation practice, Meg’s unique expertise and depth of intuition bridges ancient meditation traditions with contemporary understanding, bringing about powerful opportunities for personal transformation.
KWAN YIN (or Quan Yin or Guanyin)
Adding an extraordinary dimension of spiritual connection to her work, Meg brings us the essence of Kwan Yin, the revered Goddess of Compassion, in a trance channel state. Through this divine partnership, participants experience a rare depth of compassionate guidance and healing energy.
Kwan Yin is loved as a symbol of compassion and mercy. She is said to respond to the despairing cries of humanity with a ‘quivering heart.’ She is often depicted carrying a flask or vase of water or ‘the elixir of life,’ which she dispenses to the world as a healing salve. Kwan Yin was granted the status of Buddha, but she declined and remained a bodhisattva so she could continue to move between the realms and help all sentient beings. Her mission is to heal the world through unconditional love, kindness, and mercy.
As channeled by Meg, Kwan Yin’s message can be gentle and tinged with humor, as well as sharp and direct - but always with compassionate understanding. She brings light to our human frailty with kindness, reminding us that although whatever challenges us may be unique to us in the moment, we are all tasked with the same journey: to heal and cultivate a deep, unconditional love of self. She teaches that this is the primary contribution we can make to bringing true peace to the world.
"Whenever I spend time with Meg and Kwan Yin, I feel more peaceful, comforted, and hopeful. They address life's difficult questions with loving compassion and deep knowledge." —Charlotte R., Los Angeles, CA
